I'm starting the process of applying, put the ad in the paper and started working on the paperwork. Anybody have any suggestions for the "reason for application" question? They say to be very specific. I have a handful of reasons to want a license to carry, ranging from just a standard desire to be able to protect myself to wanting to remain in compliance with the law if my pistol is inside my waders when I'm on my trap line.

My application and all of my renewals simply said: For protection of self and property. I asked the references to use the same reason as that is why I told them I wanted one for. No embellishments are needed, simple statement.
