I'm asking a question for a friend of mine. Her son has inherited a Saturday night special from his dad who inherited it from his dad. She's having papers drawn up to document the transfer. I told her that I'll check to see if the transfer needs to go through a Federal Firearms dealer. The gun looks a bit old so I'm not sure if there are different rules for antiques. I can provide pictures. ;)

Shouldn't be any need for an FFL or background check if they are both Delaware residents. Close family is exempted from the universal background check law. The reciever can not be a person prohibited from owning guns, obviously.
