I should buy a Glock 17 or a Glock 19.
What are the disadvantages of the 17 versus the 19?
What would I lose by choosing the 17 over the 19?
How much for a new Glock 19 gen 4?

It depends on what you're most comfortable with. They're both fine guns. If looking to carry, I'd choose the 19. Both run around $550.

Advantage to the 17... Slightly less recoil, higher bullet speed and better precision due to the 3/4" longer slide. And mags hold 2 more rounds.

Advantage to the 19... Easier to conceal due to shorter grip and slide. Slightly lighter.

The 19 has a huge following, both by cops and civilians. It seems that only competition/tactical folks get the 17. But, goto a store and handle them. Preferably, goto a range that offers rentals so you can really get a feel for them.

I like the cut of your jib sir! :applause:

On topic: I liked the 19 for how it fit in my smaller hands. I tried both at shooters choice. Both are fine pistols. I had a 23 also. :D

EDIT: PM viper98 for a good price! 8-)
