Good morning guys,

I've just bought a Winchester Model 12 and would like to send it to a gunsmith to go over it and ensure everything is in good working order. I'm also debating cutting down the barrel length since it's a 30" full choke, but that's not definite yet. Can anyone here recommend a gunsmith, preferably in New Castle County, who has done good work with model 12's before or at least who you would trust to do so?

Thanks

Looks like you found shotgunworld.

Have you been able to shoot it yet? Start light, field loads.. maybe 8 shot

Personally, I've never been much on cutting stuff of a gun. Maybe a 2nd barrel would be good and flexible. Not sure of cost on the used market, especially for a good barrel.

Which Smith did you end up going to?

Good advice pick_six. Mossberg sells a replacement 18.5" barrel for their 500s for $50 (when I bought them anyways) which I bought for both of mine.

2 floor home. ;)
