May 2nd-6th, 2014

The 2014 Eastern Games at Camp Butner in NC were a blast! I took my M1 Garand, M1903A3 Springfield and Swiss K31. Several hundred competitors were present, ranging from first timers to grizzled old vets. A lot of ladies were competing as well. My best score missed a bronze medal by two points which was my totally fault. Next year I will take an AR for the Modern Military match and my M1 Carbine as well. Come on next year!

Fresh from the Eastern Games and I was eager for this month's rifle match. The slow fire prone stage went smooth with a score of 92-0X.
Yeah, that "8" at 9 o'clock was all me.


Rapid fire prone stage. I wasn't quite comfortable in my position and the score shows it. Total for the stage was 88-1X.



Standing without support, my nemesis. I called the three shots in the black because the trigger break felt good. The others were me rushing the shots. Total for the stage was 84-1X. This gives me a match total of 264-2X which did help.
So my average for the year inches up to 262.5 points@ 87.50%
