if your stag is like mine and chambered in 5.56 you can shoot .223 through it. It comes down to what is cheaper as far as shooting. Since you have the 1.7 twist you can use the 62 grain without much more of problem than the 1x9 twist like I have. I am going to pick up a mag or two of the 62gr green tips for armor piercing reasons SHTF.

Oh bye the way. Shooters choice in dover will let you bring your own .223 ammo in. just no steel core. If the bullet sticks to a magnet its not go or green tip. There is some type of ammo by ams with a zinc case that is not supposed to have a steel bullet. I have many people have been bummed about having to buy their ammo at targetmaster so this is an option for some. that dont like buying ammo there. I also believe they let you shoot reloads
