The bullet's got nothing to do with it; it's the amount of powder in the case that determines the pressure. Hornady sells several types of loads with that bullet design. Some of them are +p, some of them aren't. The only way to know for sure is to read the packaging your ammo came in. It will say whether your ammo is +p or not.

And like bmel said, myopic's ammo is +p because that's what he bought, and the box says it's .45 ACP +p.

By the way, XTP is Hornady's acronym for eXtreme Terminal Performance (according to their website). It has nothing to do with it being +p or not.

And since it has to do with pressure, that's why I suggested to check with the manufacturer to make sure the firearm can handle the extra pressure from the round.
