As stated in the subject, I'm looking for any ideas or pros/con's for a holster. I am looking to start OC, testing my waters here and there to get a feel for it, learning the ins and outs. Currently I have a basic pocket holster that my weapon sits in now. I was looking at a fobus holster, never heard good/bad about them, anyone have any reviews? Again this is for a kel rec P3AT, I know its small and I would have to worry about my shirt or sweat shirt sliding over it, but that's a habit I still have to learn.

Please see the right box below, line 3. Now, let me know if you are interested in the right box line 4. I own a Kel-Tec P3AT Gen 1 and love it for what it is, a BUG.

OK, here you go.

It took me about 10 min. of searching to come up with this but you should contact the seller to make SURE it works with a P3AT. In the KTOG Forum the only P3AT retention holster mentioned it appears to now be long gone.

Thanks for the info on that holster, I'll have to take a look into it.
And as for the advice, I'm always open for advice! Im working on my CCDW now, this will be my main EDC until I purchase another gun. I was originally looking at the flick 19, gen 4, but I couldn't pass up the deal I got on this kel tec.

And THIS is why I have my rules. OK then, what you say makes sense to me Pal. ANY gun is better than no gun. Laughter and ridicule aside, it's OK to have the smallest one at the party, just so long as you brought one to the party. So you got a great price and bought the back up before the primary. It happens.

As the other fella was saying, this is very much a Back Up Gun. Wrestling on the ground, jam it in his belly and keep pulling till it goes click. I have one and carry it in my front left pocket, off side from my strong arm compact 1911. I also have a couple of S&W Snub Nose .38s and a Beretta Nano for this same purpose in different situations. The P3AT was never designed to be used as open carry, so start saving your pennies and get a larger caliber gun that holds more bullets. Give up the beer and cigs if you have to in order to get it.

That was the only retention holster I could find for the P3AT. The OC champs here can tell you why you need the retention on the holster. Good luck to you brother and ignore the laughter.

Yea I completely agree with what your saying and agree that I definitely need a larger caliper with more bullets. Hopefully all goes well with my permit, then it shouldn't be long after until I can pick up the right tool for the job.

I will save you some time. Once you get your permit and your primary gun, here is THE holster for your back up P3AT. ALWAYS carry a back up. I have stories of the primary failing. Mine and others. It happens.

I admire your gumption sir.

If you're looking for a good level2 retention type holster for OC, my suggestion would be the Blackhawk Serpa. You might not find one specifically designated for your KelTec but there may be one that works. Head over to Xring and ask them if you can test fit for your firearm. They let me try almost every Serpa to find one that fit the FN FortyNine that I recentl owned. Their only mandate was that the pistol be unloaded while trying out the holsters.. which is just common sense. My FN ended up fitting the same holster designed for some Glocks and the S&W M&P full size pistols. The packaging didn't specify that it was for the FN but it fit perfectly.

One other suggestion would be to do some research beforehand on other pistols that have the same barrel length as well as a similarly shaped trigger guard. It will help narrow down your choices at the store.
