Anyone have a good suggestion for a mag pouch? My mags are DS. Whats more preferable, leather, plastic, carbon fiber? 2 mag, single mag? I am currently using my brothers single Blackhawk DS carrier. It's bulky and uncomfortable in every spot I've tried using it. Just looking for some real life experience. I would rather not carry the extra mag in my pocket if I can help it.

I have one mag holder for my LC9 that is a leather one. Inside it has a clip or something for retention. I don't use it as much as I thought I would. I too have just ended up carrying an extra mag or two in my pocket.

I carry a basic mag holder on my belt, made out of black woven nylon with a velcro closure. It holds 2 mags in addition to the one in my pistol. It is very comfortable carried on my weak side (left). I place them in holder (pouch) so as I pull them out they are in a natural position to insert into my pistol smoothly and quick. You may perfer leather holders which are more expensive and look pretty, but this works for me. I have had mine for years, but I have seen them in Walmart for about $10-$12.
On my belt I carry my pistol on the right (strong) side, at 4 o'clock and on my left side I have my cell phone, a large knife, and mag pouch between 2nd and 3rd belt loop, about 7 to 8 o'clock.

Open top mag pouches are great for competition but they dig into my side for EDC. I really like the Bianchi accumold mag pouches for EDC. The top flap prevent the mag from digging into my side.

If you remove the metal military belt clip this one works great for carrying two 1911 mags.

I just use a Blackhawk double mag carrier for SS 8 rounders, but I'm skinny so even sitting in the truck I don't have the back digging issue. I know allot of people just put them in jacket pockets and the like. I believe there are leather mag pouches that sit lower on the belt like a leatherman case, x-ring may have some

I use a Galco Gunleather single mag pouch. It carries it horizontally so as not to dig into my sides. Very comfortable and it holds the mag with plenty of retention force.
