Police ID man they say began shooting after getting knocked down in fight at Newark-area pool hall

On Wednesday, Delaware State Police asked for the public's help locating a 26-year-old Newark man wanted in connection to a fight and shooting at a pool hall east of Newark.

According to authorities, Christopher J. Caccavone engaged in a verbal altercation with a 33-year-old man at Rackers Bar & Billiards at 1232 Capitol Trail on Monday, June 19, 2017. Caccavone displayed a handgun as the fight progressed, and the victim knocked him to the ground, police said.

Another patron grabbed the victim and began forcing him out the front door, at which point Caccavone fired several shots before fleeing the area.

The victim was uninjured.

Caccavone is a white male with a thin build, standing approximately 5'8", and may have had his hair cut short recently. He possibly fled in a silver Honda Civic. He is wanted on charges of first-degree reckless endangering and may be in the Newark or Hockessin areas.

Anyone with information relating to this incident or the whereabouts of Caccavone is urged to contact Delaware State Police at 302.365.8467 or Delaware State Police at 1.800.TIP.3333.
