Sorry, I've been lazy about updates.

Saturday my son's scout troop went to Wilmington Trap Shooters on 40. He is more of a pistol guy but I think had a good time. They used BB guns as the warm up and then 20 ga for shooting clays. He's a bit small for the full size 20 ga's they had but he had a good RO help him and didn't fall over. :D He liked the BB gun better so for rifle he may use my old one more.

Only the scouts said anything about my Sig. I tried my best to explain to them but being teenagers they weren't the best listeners. I got a lot of "I read on the internet..." but they are good young men all the same.

I also carried to the Cabela's early opening event on the 28th. I had my daughter with me. Didn't get any comments but it was pretty crowded. I think the workers did notice especially in the tight quarters of the gun gallery but I think they have been trained on DE law. I guess we'll see.

Glad your son had a good time. Not sure you are aware of the BSA carry policy.

Except for law enforcement officers required to carry firearms within their jurisdiction, firearms shall not be brought on camping, hiking, backpacking, or other Scouting activities except those specifically planned for target shooting under the supervision of a currently certified BSA national shooting sports director or National Rifle Association firearms instructor.
...

Feel free to bang head. Another misguided gun-free zone.
[Note: I interpret "except for target shooting" to mean those firearms to be used in the target shooting]

Interesting, no one seemed to mind. I wasn't there in any other capacity than as a parent. If they want to kick me out of Boy Scouts they are a several years too late. :troll:

Was the area closed to everyone except the Boy Scouts, or were others there with their guns to shoot?

No not closed. We were at a station at the one end. At the other end they had active skeet shooting going on. The boys went back and forth to the clubhouse at that end to buy food/drink.

Daughter and I went to Tiger Direct to get some memory for her PC. No reactions that I saw and we got want we needed and left. On the ride back my daughter said she noticed a few employees there were eyeing my Sig but nobody said anything. I am torn. Was I oblivious and not situationally aware or am I just comfortable enough to ignore the stares?

Went to Safeway in Peoples Plaza with my son in tow. Nobody said a thing as we got our foodstuffs and headed out.

I should update this more often.

Nothing too big to report but I am open carrying to Delaware Combat University where I am training in practical self defense. Coach Bruce is very open to the idea of OC and is incorporating it into my training.
