This is a IM convo with a friend of mine from Canada, I don't know what provoked it, but what disturbed me was that they actually teach against carrying firearms in Canadian schools according to him. He didn't even have a really clear reason as to why he was against carrying either.

Ben-Hur: Openly carrying deters criminals, it doesn't make you any bigger of a target, and it provides you a way to defend yourself if need be. Cops are reactionary, they're not going to be there to stop you from getting shot or robbed, you have to be prepared to defend yourself.
