(copied from my FB)

"Just had my first exp with DE cops.

2 Stupid kids were throwing rocks(Size of my hand rocks) over the trees behind my house bouncing off my garage. One almost rolled off roof into my civics windshield. So I looked around didnt see anyone in the direction it came from. Then i hear two more rocks. So i run around behind the garage and see the two. The rocks hitting a pole barn sounded like gun shots.

They ran pretty fast when I started screaming. Called cops and tailed the kids to get a description. Cops in the area caught them not a minute later. I ID'd from a distance. Cop met me back at my house and we looked for damage. I didnt see any immediately. But found one of the rocks. (Found a small dent in the side later, will be checking roof tomorrow)

Cops said I shoulda gone after them and kicked their ass... then another cop rolled up and was like they have an attitude beyond belief.... you shoulda beat their asses... Then the cops told me DE is not like jersey you can defend yourself and property and they decide who was in the wrong. He said I woulda been just fine as long as there was no "Physical injuries" and a punch to the face is not a physical injury..."

I did not have my firearm on me when I ran around my garage and was yelling it was in the garage. I put it back on after and was able to get a description for the dispatcher from a good distance.

After everything was done, the cop was talking to be and my neighbor and thanked me for OCing, I had mentioned on the phone when he called to walk down and ID them from the back of his car, that I OC just to not alarm him when I walk up. He asked if I could leave it in the garage for that time. I did and when I got back to my house I put it back on while talking to him in my yard. He was very pleased I knew the DE law when it came to firearms and what you can and cant do. I asked if he knew about Deloc, he said he did and was pleased there are people out there that know and follow the law and can protect themselves.

I don't know how I'd take the assault advice from the cops but I'm sure the kids probably need a good "disciplinary session!" Glad it all turned out well in the end though.

Hopefully the neighborhood kids get the idea of.. maybe we should leave this guy and his neighbor alone... atleast thats what im hoping for. Got too much money in that garage let alone the inside of it to be letting it get ruined.
